Whether it is analyzing and submitting an offer in compromise, dealing with tax liens and tax levies, defending trust fund assessment, negotiating payment plans, representing injured/innocent spouse or preparing non filed tax returns, I have found that very rarely is a business and/or individual, regardless of how qualified they may believe they are, able to adequately represent themselves before the Internal Revenue Service and/or Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Whether it is because they become emotionally involved or are unfamiliar with the Tax Code or Regulations, the end result is that they are unable to obtain the result that is best for them. One of the most egregious mistakes that taxpayers and/or businesses make is to pay back taxes without keeping current on their current taxes.
Additionally, my office is located in Pittsburgh, PA, and I only represent individual and business clients who are located in Western Pennsylvania. I believe that it is an asset to the client not only to be able to meet with them but also to personally meet with the collection agents, appeals officers and/or attorneys representing the IRS or Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I do not represent a client unless I am able to meet with them personally.
